Is it really wise to build homes at the bottom of a river valley? Apart from the devastating impact that the increased volume of traffic would have on both Torquay Road and on Cockington Lane/Old Paignton Road, to consider building dwellings on this flood plane is lunacy. Has Torbay council learned nothing from recent history? Flooding is currently occurring at an alarming rate throughout the country and with global warming things are set to get a lot worse. |
